La qualité de fabrication est évidente, la finition parfaite, et l'ergonomie excellente. C'est un bel objet, lourd, et la poignée permet de le maintenir fermement contre le plan de travail pendant l'utilisation.J'ai d'abord été déçu dans un premier temps car je trouvais que le résultat n'était pas très convaincant.Je modifie maintenant mon avis et je rajoute une étoile, car je viens de m'apercevoir que cet affuteur fonctionne parfaitement à condition de ne SURTOUT PAS APPUYER sur la lame pendant l'affutage !!!Un fusil traditionnel peut fournir un résultat encore meilleur si on sait l'utiliser. Mais au quotidien cet appareil donne un très bon résultat avec une très grande facilité. Juste passer le couteau dessus 2 ou 3 fois sur la fente de droite, et l'essuyer avant de l'utiliser.

Even my Wusthof knives dont sharpen very well. Went back to the steel, which is ok. I think I will return this and just get a better honing steel.

The sharpener worked well when new, however after several years the knives are not getting the same edge from the sharpener. I have tried to get replacement parts but they are not available. Its an expensive item to just throw away when it no longer works.

Product is as described and matches my knife set. Easy to use and fits in hand well. Product has a good weight to help hold it in position. The page needs to be updated. One section says 30 degree cutting edge then the description lists 28. Time will only tell how well it will perform.

Le principe, droitier/gaucher est effectivement bien pensé, mais les couteaux ne sont pas au top, je trouve que cet aiguiseur abîme un peu les lames. Peut être que je m'y prends mal, mais si aiguiser ses couteaux relève d'un don artistique bien particulier avec cet appareil... et bien je rends mon tablier!Sincèrement, pour plus de la moitié du prix, on trouve des produits similaires, de qualité identique, et qui font leur job tout aussi bien, voir mieux et plus facilement!Donc produit sympa, indispensable dans sa cuisine c'est certain, mais comme je ne suis pas particulièrement convaincue... je ne recommanderai pas forcément à ce prix là!

Un aiguiseur a toujours sa place dans une cuisine. Et si en plus il est est beau et bien fabriqué, c'est encore mieux.Wüsthof est une marque reconnue dans la coutellerie depuis plus de 200 ans. Avec cet aiguiseur, rendre les lames des couteaux coupantes comme au premier jour sera un jeu d'enfant.En respectant bien le sens (ne jamais faire de va et vient !!) de mouvement de la lame, on pose l'aiguiseur sur une table (ou surface plane et stable) et on passe d'abord le couteau du côté meule diamant ("coarse") quelques fois, puis on finalise de la même façon côté céramique ("fine").Pour les couteaux crantés, on ne les passe que du côté céramique.Fabriqué d"une seule pièce d'aluminium, avec finition brossée, le manche est à l'image d'un beau couteau. Et pour éviter les mauvaises manipulations, le bord arrière redescend pour que le manche ne glisse pas dans la main. De plus, du caoutchouc recouvre les deux parties qui repose l'aiguiseur.Très beau et bon produit.

sharpener works OK...similar to one I already had. Downside is that there were no instructions.Also, how do you clean the porcelain cross sticks.? Overtime they will most likely become impregnated with metal.This would make them ineffective for sharpening.
